US HISTORY 1861-1920
The study of U.S. History provides the chief source for understanding America and its people.  While looking at past events, the course may emphasize the development of trends in economic, political and social quarters.  The course will consist of three units beginning with the Civil War and Reconstruction Period, continuing with the Industrial Age and finishing with the Progressive Era.

WORLD HISTORY
World History broadened the understanding of students about the history of our world civilization. The first part of this course will cover the following topics:  major themes in geography, ancient civilization and the Middle Ages in Western Europe. The second part topics covered will be: The Renaissance and Reformation, The Age of Revolution, The Industrial Age, World War I, World War II and the Cold War.

U.S. HISTORY 1920-PRESENT
The study of American History provides the chief source for understanding America and her people. While looking at past events, the course may emphasize the development of trends in economic, political, and social quarters. The area(s) of study begin with Imperialism and goes through the decades of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. State requirements include the study of labor unions, ethnic groups, women in history and the Holocaust.

GOVERNMENT
This course is required for graduation in order to satisfy the federal and state constitution requirement. In addition the course will include the study of the Declaration of Independence, voting procedures, and the operation of our federal, state, and local governments. The course will discuss how our governments affect us on a daily basis.
