000The Sherrard School District encompasses 200 square miles with its northern border within a mile of the Quad City Airport. It is a 20 mile trip from the junior senior high school facility to downtown Rock Island. Sherrard offers a small school rural atmosphere and has the advantages of big city opportunities. The Sherrard School District is a bedroom community of the Quad Cities for employment, entertainment, higher education, and shopping. 000

  Sherrard High School offers fully articulated instructional programs in College and Tech Prep. Both programs are intended to prepare students for post-secondary education and/or employment skills of the future. Over fifty percent of our students take our College prep Program and over sixty-five percent enroll in post-secondary institutions. Our commitment to the Tech Prep initiative allows us to offer nine articulated degrees with Black hawk Community College. We are a member of the Tri-County Vo Tech Region, which allows our students to participate in vocational courses at the Area Career Center in East Moline, Illinois. We currently offer 120 courses in 14 subject areas in grades 9-12 and have an extensive building wide computer network with over 400 computers available to students and staff. Sherrard Junior and Senior High School is a state of the art facility, with a new four million dollar addition built in 2001 that added fourteen classrooms, offices, and a new gymnasium. The facility has new generation computer labs, and at least one computer in every room.

  Sherrard offers a regionally competitive salary and individual health and life insurance paid by the board of education. Our district encourages professional development opportunities by providing tuition and workshop reimbursement to its staff.
