Mr. Tim Wernentin

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  I look forward to meeting all new students and welcoming back our returning students on August 9.  Our school day begins at 7:40 and ends at 2:30 while utilizing an eight period day.  There are a couple of important changes I need to share.  We are returning to “pre-COVID” procedures in regards to cell phones and locker usage.  All cell phones will need to remain in lockers and will be available for usage during passing periods and lunch time.  Students will also need to place backpacks in their lockers upon arrival to school.  These changes are necessitated to ensure student safety and to avoid distractions during instruction.

Our mission at Sherrard High School is "to inspire students to think creatively and develop their own vision for the future, prepare students to navigate an ever-changing world, empower students with the skills to develop their own path to success."

High standards and expectations for each student in regard to academic performance, co-curricular participation, and responsible citizenship are the foundation of our school. It is with pride that we hold these high standards and ask each of our students to commit to maintaining the extraordinary record of achievement and contribution that has been the legacy of Sherrard High School students. It is the contribution of our students to our school community that makes Sherrard High School an exceptional learning community. Full participation in academic and co-curricular programs and a willingness to act responsibly as an individual within our educational environment are the factors that enable all to have a successful and enjoyable year.

Together we form a strong partnership to ensure that all Sherrard students receive an exceptional education. I encourage you to attend our many school activities and to volunteer as your schedule allows.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
