Penny War, April 29 - May 3, 2019
To celebrate the first Cardinals vs. Cubs series on May 3rd, students from Matherville Intermediate will be be having a Penny War the week of April 29th to raise money for Operation Santa, Children’s Fund, and the Viola Fire Department’s new truck. This friendly contest will benefit the students in the district as well as the community. Students were encouraged to wear team colors all week and bring in any change they had lying around. The winning fan group will have bragging rights to hold over the heads of the second and third place fans.
Matherville Baseball Fan Challenge:
- Operation Santa will receive $283.38
- Children's Fund will receive $244.34
- Viola Fire Department will receive $144.23
