2019-2020 News Stories

We have a large number of retirees this year – nine! The positive influence they have had on the district is incalculable. It will be difficult to replace their dedication, energy and expertise. There are so many stories to tell of shared experiences.
Kevin DelMastro, OSF SFMC Disaster Preparedness Coordinator, and Josh Balk, Educator for the Office of Disaster Preparedness at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, gave in-depth Stop The Bleed training to Sherrard high school and junior high staff Feb. 26.
During spanish class, Feb. 28, senior Guin Diehl was surprised with the Chancellor’s Scholarship for four years of tuition and fees to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Second grade Sherrard Elementary student Alaina Volkert raised $770 total to donate to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.
Over the course of 21 years, Winola Elementary has raised a total of $203,882 total for the American Heart Association, according to representative Christine Taylor. She’s been with Sherrard the whole time.
