The district earned a No. 4 ranking in the Davenport, IA Metro Area—standing out as the only rural school in the top five and the highest-ranked school in the region with fewer than 700 students. Statewide, it placed No. 216 in Illinois and No. 6,204 nationally in the 2025–2026 Best High Schools list by U.S. News & World Report. The school earned recognition for its strong academic performance and high graduation rate of 91%.

“I am proud of our students, staff and community as I know how hard they work. This recognition demonstrates our dedication to academic growth and success as a district,” said High School Principal Alex Johnson.

The methodology focuses on six factors: college readiness; reading, math and science proficiency; reading, math and science performance; underserved student performance; college curriculum breadth; and graduation rates.

"We believe every student deserves access to clear, actionable data when choosing their educational path,” said LaMont Jones, managing editor for education at U.S. News. “In an era where navigating educational opportunities can feel overwhelming for families, the 2025-2026 Best High School rankings help students and parents identify schools that align with their goals and empower informed decisions that shape students' futures.”
