School Year 2021-2022
We are waiting for more guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education on the requirements for the 2021-2022 school year. At this time, we do not have many answers on how this next school year will look. As answers to the questions are developed, they will be added to the FAQ below.
Will families with members who have medical conditions that cause them to be vulnerable to serious Coronavirus complications be able to have their child(ren) learn remotely?
Families with certain medical conditions desiring to have their child(ren) learn in a full remote setting must provide the district with a form titled, Medical Certification for Home Instruction that is completed by (1) a physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches, (2) a licensed physician assistant, or (3) a licensed advanced practice registered nurse that the student is medically unable to attend regular in-person classroom instruction. Periodic conferences will be held between appropriate school personnel, parent(s)/guardian(s), and healthcare provider (as needed) to coordinate course work and facilitate a student’s return to school. Students who work remotely because of medical reasons will be assigned tutors and will use online curriculum in lieu of synchronous learning activities with classmates. Contact the unit office to get a copy of the certification form.
