Her hometown is Milan. Her and husband, Darrell, have three kids, Kylie, Sophie and Ben.

“I get to teach in the same district my children attend,” Souhrada cited as one reason she chose to teach at Sherrard, her alma mater.

“I graduated from here and know what a great school it is. The teaching facilities are great for a small district.”

As a PE teacher, she enjoys interacting with so many students, “You get to interact with the students the entire class, whether that’s having a friendly competition during a game or sitting and talking about issues they may have at the end of class... I am lucky enough to have almost every high school student during their 4 years here. It’s fun to watch them progress from freshman to senior year. The one thing I miss most this year is seeing their smiles in class!”

Students may not know she played the alto saxophone at SHS and was awarded the Louis Armstrong jazz award her senior year of high school.

Souhrada’s best advice for life, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”
