Class of 2022 Graduation

Sunday, May 22, 2022 - The school band played “Pomp and Circumstance” arranged by Edward Elgar as graduates walked through a warm breeze onto the track to take their seats. It’s the second year the school held the commencement ceremony outside - and the weather cooperated just as perfectly as it did in 2021.

High School Principal Tim Wernentin, followed by Senior Class President Charlotte Frere began the ceremony welcoming the audience. The band and chorus performed “Let There Be Peace”, Sy Miller and Jill Jackson, arranged by Douglas E. Warner.

Assistant Principal, and 2004 Sherrard graduate, Alex Johnson, gave the Senior Address.

For the last time, retiring Superintendent Alan Boucher announced and congratulated students who earned Academic Honors throughout their high school career.

Lily Kregel gave the Class of 2022 Address. She gave the class words from patients she tends to at Mercer Manor, a rehabilitation and nursing center, in her role as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). “One man said,  ‘There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind. To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream. Not only plan, but also believe. Your life is your story and the adventure ahead of you is the journey to fulfill your own purpose and potential.’ This is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard someone say to me, and I felt it needed to be shared with not only these seniors but everyone here today. Life is too short to worry about the little things, dream big and shoot for the stars.”
