Illinois State Board of Education has received a waiver for the 2019-2020 school year from the U.S. Department of Education for state assessments. This action officially ends assessment activity statewide for the Illinois.
They recognize that the free SAT provided by the state is the only opportunity many students get to take a college entrance exam.
College Board ensures that students will have plenty of opportunity to make up for the spring's lost administration. College Board will be offering weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration in September, in addition to the previously scheduled tests. The class of 2021 will have early access to registration for the August, September, and October administrations. Students will be notified by email in May when registration opens. College Board is regularly updated their website with new information, Click HERE for the latest information.
To keep your college readiness skills sharp, College Board and Khan Academy will continue to provide free resources online, including full-length practice tests and personalized learning tools.
For the 2019–20 exam administration only, students will take a 45-minute online exam at home. An email has been sent to all AP students and guardians. Click HERE to see a copy of the AP letter sent on 4/14/2020.
