Augustana College - Illinois representatives held a ‘pop-up’ event outside at Sherrard High School - bringing a little of their campus to the rural school. Students had the opportunity to sign up to meet with the reps and learn about the college.
Karen Dahlstrom, Executive Director of Admissions, said, “We didn’t want to only rely on virtual - there is a way to get a little bit of face-to-face contact.”
They started the visits in late September and have been doing outdoor pop-ups in city parks, and outside at schools within a 100 mile radius of their campus.
“The families have been really complementary, everybody’s craving it a little bit, to be able to talk face to face,” she said.
Associate Director of Admissions, Rachel Gustafson, also spoke with students.
The two gave a snapshot of what student life is like at Augustana, and answered students' questions this afternoon.
