Scholastic Bowl Meet

Monday, Jan. 30, seven schools traveled to Sherrard for a Scholastic Bowl Meet.

Sherrard won their first match of the evening against Rockridge and had two well fought matches against Morrison and Monmouth-Roseville. Vinny Wiley, a junior, had a team high total of 14 questions answered across the three matches.

Coach Daniel Williams explained how it works, “Scholastic Bowl is a battle of the wits, where schools go head to head in a trivia showdown. Questions range from math to science to pop culture to social sciences and more.

"I'm constantly impressed with our team's base of knowledge and their sportsmanship," said Coach Williams, "There will be a question where I think to myself 'Surely nobody knows this' and then sure enough, they do! It's a truly impressive competition".

The seven other districts in the conference are Erie-Prophetstown, Orion, Riverdale, Morrison, Monmouth-Roseville, Rockridge, and Mendota.
