March 9, Nate Strandberg, senior, was surprised by Chris Kerkenbush, Regional admission counselor with University of Wisconsin-Platteville surprised with a renewable scholarship totaling $7,000 - $10,000 each year. He will be majoring in environmental engineering at the college.

Kerkenbush said only nine received the scholarship this year.

Julie Drish said this is the second student in five years to receive a significant scholarship from Wisconsin Platteville - in 2020 Guinn Diehl was surprised during class by a representative from the school.

Strandberg’s reaction, “It’s very surprising, I’m very thankful for this opportunity - especially to my teachers who’ve helped me. I’m just shocked.”
