Junior, Alec Simms will be beginning his apprenticeship with McLaughlin Body Co. on June 12 - and continue into his senior year.
Simms was quoted by the The Dispatch / Rock Island Argus during the Quad Cities Chamber Apprenticeship signing event at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf,
“It’s cool to be recognized, I’ve never been to anything like this, so I don't know what to expect” he said ahead of the event. “I have no idea what I'll be doing (in the apprenticeship), but I just wanted to do it to learn."
For students interested in exploring registered apprenticeships, Simms recommended reaching out to school counselors.
