On Saturday, March 2, Sherrard High School's band and choir students participated in the IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest at Monmouth-Roseville High School. They performed solos and small group pieces, aiming for Division 1-5 ratings, with Division 1 being the highest.
Students achieved 17 Division I ratings, along with 11 Division II and 3 Division III ratings. Judges also recognized standout performances by selecting a "Best of Day" from each room.
Mackenzie Volkert received two Best of Day awards for her vocal solos, while Vinnie Wiley earned one for his bass trombone solo.
These accomplishments showcase the talent and dedication of Sherrard High School's musicians, highlighting their commitment to musical excellence.
