The Sherrard FFA Horse Judging Team showcased their skills at the Illinois FFA State Horse Evaluation Career Development Event, bringing home top honors in a highly competitive field.

The event, designed to inspire the next generation of athletes, brought excitement and energy to the gym as 160 complete sets of varsity basketball trading cards were distributed to eager young fans… to the surprise of the varsity players portrayed on the cards.

Elementary art teacher Tony Vermeer believes in the magic of discovery. This year, his first-grade students at Winola Elementary are once again harnessing the power of "magic stones"

“Parenting is one of my favorite classes to teach! I try to remind my students that they CAN do hard things—like being a parent!

“She doesn't just settle for what she's after - she really wants to see the kids grow and improve.” 

That’s how colleague Vanessa Schulenberg, special education teacher, described Lexi Weihler, Sherrard’s district-wide social worker and the January recipient of the Tiger Talent Award.

The Sherrard music program is celebrating a $6,505 boost thanks to the success of their Sept. 7 Mattress Fundraiser.

“Once again, I want to say a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who donated cookbooks for my library project—you’ve made something really special project—you’ve made something really special possible!” said Karen Millichamp, Library Aide.
